Hey Jennifer–that could be a variety of reasons including other levels like hormones, leg strength, fatigue tolerance, sleep, etc. We are complicated puzzles!

HMMMM…..I know it’s highly variable and individualized but kinda wished this were the problem and it isn’t low as I thought!

Running was getting really hard so I took a break from it thinking I was just exhausted. About 8 weeks ago I had a dizzy spell and went to the Dr for a check up. My blood work showed a ferritin level of 2 and hemaglobin level of 54. They prescribed iron tabs. A few days later I collapsed and was taken to hospital. The doctors were shocked at my levels, and how I awful I must have felt! Had an iron & blood transfusion the next day plus follow up endoscopy & colonoscopy a few weeks later! Turns out I’m Coeliac!
Waiting for my levels to get back to near normal (ferritin now at 154 and hemaglobin 107) and can’t wait to get running again. X

Up to 300 is an acceptable range however I would talk to your doctor because I am not one to be safe!! Having too much ferritin can cause issues.
